Chooks (chickens) have been domesticated for many centuries. They come from the rainforests of Malaysia to free love. Chooks are such easy animals to care for, can make great pets for children and are a valuable resource for the organic gardener.
YouÂ'll need to check with your local council for information its regulations. Some tips wonÂ't let you keep any poultry, while others willa-some even allow roosters.

Basic requirements
* Dry, Fox-proof shelter
* A safe place to lay their eggs and hatch chicks (if you have a cock)
* The perch resting off the ground (about Allow 20 cm per bird)
* Pellets layer (or break down chicken) should make most of their diet.

* Wheat, corn or other grains should be offered occasionally, but not the majority of their diet
* The Birds do not have teeth, they swallow small stones or grit to grind their food in the gizzard. They should have access to a supply of sand for this purpose.
* Never feed chocolate, coffee, avocado or rhubarb, because they are toxic to Chooks
* It should always have access to clean water and fresh.
If you plan on letting your Chooks Dona't outdoors in a garden area during the day, will be much happier if they offer a career out of where you can scratch the ground and enjoy from sunlight.
Lock my Chooks from sunset to midday. In this way almost always theyÂ've their eggs by then, so must Dona't go to daily egg hunt! Old-receptor Grass engines lawn laying boxes make great A-just the right size and provide ventilation.
Liquid fertilizer
Chook manure is an ideal base for liquid fertilizer or to add to your compost heap. You never use it cool, although, as poultry manure also contains the urine and can burn their crops.
To make a liquid manure, place it in a porous bag in a bucket and fill the bucket with water. After three weeks or so you can use water in and around your plants, diluted to look like weak tea.

If you provide a layer of straw, hay or sawdust in your chooka cameras that will make him an ideal composite for you. They scratch, add manure and back. You can add layers of this organic material to your compost heap or allowed to become a fine, dark substance.

In order to survive, your indoor plants need two kinds of food. We talked about one of these, water, in Part II of this series. They also need minerals. When a plant is outdoors, you can usually get enough minerals from their environment by itself. However, indoor plants need more attention - the nutrients available to them in the interior must be provided by the gardener.
What do the numbers on the fertilizer bag mean?
Most of the three mineral fertilizers necessary for plants: Nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K). The numbers in the bag represent the percentages of these three nutrients. A 20-10-15 fertilizer has scored 20% nitrogen, 10% phosphorus, potassium and 15%. These are not the only elements need a plant, but other elements are needed in much smaller quantities.
How much of each mineral needs my plant?
By Of course, this depends on what kind of plant that are fertilizers. It is very important not to give your plant too much or too little food. This is a decision that must be done to each individual plant. You should carefully read the label attached to the plant if there is one, and the label on the fertilizer bag. If you are still unsure, ask the person on the shop floor for the council.
What does each of the minerals that make?
This issue is continually being investigated by scientists. For the purposes of gardening, we can say that phosphorus is needed in greater amounts for flowering plants, while plants leaf green as a lot of nitrogen. Potassium is especially needed for fruiting plants, as it helps bring other nutrients through the plant tissues.
What are the symptoms of malnutrition?
Inadequate fertilization can cause plant leaves to turn pale, or do not grow as large as they should. This can be remedied by using a solution of fertilizer, so the plant can absorb nutrients faster. If plants are over-fertilized, the leaves wither and begin to turn brown at the tips. In this case, you should thoroughly soak the plant in water to flush the excess mineral distance.
How can I pay my plants, and how often?
My personal preference is to use "liquid" fertilizers, and making it more difficult fertilize. Dry fertilizer dissolves in water, using the instructions in the package. Then, the plants are wet by pouring the solution into the pot until it begins to leave holes in the bottom. I do it every two months - a little more often during the flowering season.
If you use care in feeding their house plants, which not only survive, they will be lush. And do not forget to ask for advice if you are having difficulties. Your store floors should be happy to help a good customer.
