What is the nutritional difference between a tomato grown in soil and hydroponic tomato growth?
Some say that hydroponic vegetables grown are the same as usual vegetables grown conventionally. Or is something missing. Or it may produce grown through hydroponics soilless be differentiated of products grown in soil.
The first answer has a lot of good information in it - read it carefully. The problem is that any of these methods can produce very good or very poor tomatoes. Everything depends on the humidity, light and nutrients available to the plant. Hydroponics requires the nutrients are added to water to that the producer can be precisely controlled. On the ground some may be missing. But a good producer will ensure that the plants have plenty of both. One big difference in the two is that hydroponics are often grown in greenhouses for disease and insect damage is easily limited. They are also often picked up by hand and sold locally to be more mature and better flavor than tomatoes took a little green so as not to damage in transport. But the conclusion is that there is little or no research that is better, possibly because there are many variables involved and the results would be of little practical value.
